Hub of Mining Operations

The Warehouse, Wash House, Garage, and Machine Shop were located alongside the railroad, supporting the daily operations of Roslyn’s coal mines. The warehouse stored materials and supplies essential to coal production. The wash house featured a coal-fired boiler that provided hot water for miners’ baths. The garage was used to maintain and repair company vehicles and equipment, while the machine shop was where tools and machinery parts were repaired or fabricated as needed.

Following the closure of the mines in 1963, these buildings fell out of use. In 1965, the Roslyn Fire Department burned the structures, marking the end of an important chapter in the physical history of Roslyn’s coal-mining operations.
