Book and Other Items Donation Policy
Roslyn Library Donations Policy
We welcome book and materials donations, but we do have some guidance to best help our collection.
All donations have costs associated with them including time for evaluation, cataloging, and processing. We do not guarantee that any donation will make it into the library’s collection. Due to the labor involved in processing donations, individual materials will not be returned after evaluation.
Donations not added to our collection will be given to the Friends of the Roslyn Library group for their annual book sale. All proceeds from book sales go directly back to the Roslyn Library to purchase materials, fund programs, or provide other items to enrich library services.
The library is often asked to include donations of independently published works or works by local authors. We can accept these materials as preview copies for evaluation, but we cannot guarantee that these works will be added to the collection.
Donations must be brought to the circulations desk during open hours.
If you have questions regarding the appropriateness of donations, please call the library at 509-260-1069
