ABOUT THE FRIENDS

The Friends of the Roslyn Library (FORL) is an all-volunteer, 501(c)(3), non-profit organization. Our mission is to support and cooperate with the Roslyn Public Library in developing, maintaining and enhancing facilities, resources and services for the public through fundraising, advocacy and volunteering.

FORL hosts annual fundraisers for library programs and events:

SEUSSAPALOOOZA – a community event with silent auction and quirky entertainment

USED BOOK SALES – two book sales each year: first weekend in July and second Saturday in December

Join us and help keep our library thriving! As a Friend, you’ll strengthen a vital community resource, receive information on upcoming book sales and events, get updates on what’s happening in the library, and have opportunities to volunteer and connect with others. Membership dues are $10 per calendar year. Please download and fill out a FORL Membership Form and return it to the Roslyn Public Library with your dues.

Come to a Meeting

Join the Friends of the Roslyn Library at their monthly planning meetings on the last Thursday of the month at 5:30 p.m. in the library. All are welcome!

  • Cultural programs for adults

  • Furniture and signage

  • Safety and media equipment

  • Assistance with continuing education for the Librarian, library board members and Friends' board members

  • Matching funds for children's books and other grants

  • Grant writing to raise funds for the remodeling of the library

  • Rent for the temporary library space
