Loved Ones Left Behind

Located in downtown Roslyn in front of the NWI store at the corner of Pennsylvania Avenue and 1st Street, the Coal Miners’ Memorial honors the victims and families of the tragic 1892 mine explosion, as well as the generations of coal miners and their families who shaped the community’s history.

The Roslyn Museum houses a collection of artifacts related to the 1892 mine explosion and offers Paul Fridlund’s book, 1892 Mine Explosion, which documents this significant event in Roslyn’s history. The book is also available at select local retail outlets.
